Stranger Things: A Pandora Story
In the first of a new series of Pandora Stories, Maya takes us on a Stranger Things journey through East London while she explores the new collaborative collection from the hit TV series Stranger Things.
Be Running Up That Road
Hey! Would you like to follow me through one of my favourite London neighbourhoods as I explore the new Stranger Things collection? I took this journey on my bike this October. I had just received my Pandora order from Pandora.Net. How exiting! I just couldn’t wait to explore.
Be Running Up That Hill
I remembered to grab my Sony Walkman and a copy of Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love before I left home. Everything I needed sat perfectly in the basket of my bike.
Not long into my journey, I came across a perfect place to listen to the first track on Side A – up this small hill. It’s not exactly Primrose Hill, but those aren’t the vibes I was looking for anyway! This somewhat deserted location certainly reminded me of Max and that iconic moment in the show. Do you know which one I mean?
Well, I can give you a clue of what I’m talking about: why don’t you catch up on this clip from Season 4 before we go any further? Treat that little ear worm with a snack going before we continue.
Now, see how many of the cultural references you can recognise out of the ones we were able to employ!
I found the exact same cassette player as Max uses in Season 4 on eBay. It will be going back on eBay once I have finished reviewing the Stranger Things jewellery, so watch out for that if you like it!
Have a look at these three ring: Stranger Things Hellfire Club Ring; Stranger Things Friends Don’t Lie Splittable Ring; Stranger Things Demogorgon Ring.
I really love this photo! The rings really pop and that’s not surprising when you are wearing such stand out, eye catching pieces. This collection is not like anything Pandora have done before. I feel like a Rockstar wearing these. My fave ring is the Hellfire Club Ring. What a statement piece that is! But, honestly, all of the rings are amazing.
It doesn’t hurt me (yeah, yeah, yo)
The batteries in the tape player were still operational. I needed a bit of help getting the cassette tape into the player, but don’t judge me too harshly – this Walkman is probably older than I am! Kate’s voice come through loud and clear and I could hear the rhythms at the start of the song.
I love Autumn in England. I love the sound of the leaves crunch under my feet as I walk through the park and the lingering smell in the fresh, cool air. I love the colour palette of Autumn. I guess you call it “Fall” in the US, right? This is so fitting as the wind sweeps through the trees, taking those golden and red leaves with it. The Stranger Things bracelets are really lovely, I am hoping they bring out more charms for the snake chain bracelet. I would love to add something meaningful and nostalgic to the bracelet, as well as enjoy this stylish piece on its own.
The clasp on the Stranger Things bracelet is simply iconic and if you like retro 80’s you will love it as much as I do. The charms are super cute! “It’s you and me…eee…eee” this really is a great song, why had no one heard of it until it was on Netflix?
It was soon time to get on my bike and look for more Stranger Things inspiration. But, really, don’t these charms and bracelets look great? I love the pop of colour on the Stranger Things Hellfire Club Dice Dangle Charm.
I love a shopping trip of course. Nothing like getting a big bag full of Pandora goodies.
I am becoming obsessed with the ST aesthetic. It’s a completely different vibe to what I’m used to and I love this new direction.
Be running up that building
I came across this abandoned house. It felt extra creepy as it was Halloween eve as well! Spooky. I was not brave enough to explore inside.
